As someone with olive skin I always wondered this too. I guess I can't really judge it on myself objectively, but those two pictures you shared look fine to me. I wouldn't really think anything about the color they're wearing if it was pointed out, so I guess it just looks normal. The magenta shade looks good on the first one.
