Went to Victoria secret and got fitted but I think they told me wrong

The band is supposed to be based on your under-bust (rib) measurement. Not much larger. That way, it's the band and not the straps that lend support. It the band that is supposed to give the most support. If it's the straps that give support, they dig into the shoulders, cause back pain and all sorts of discomfort.

Don't let them sell you on a band that is 4 or more inches larger! They usually do.

Cup sizes are based on the number of inches difference between your bust and under-bust (or band) measurements.

In U. S. sizing,
A 1" difference = an A cup
2" = is a B cup
3" = C
4" = D
5" = DD
6" = DDD
7" = F
8" = G
And so on.

Bands are sold in 2" increments.

So, for example, if your bust is 34" and your under-bust is 27", a 28DDD or even a 30D would be a proper fit, depending on the bra manufacturer.

Because of improper bra fitting, people think that C is medium, D is large, and DD is bodacious. But that's absurd.

A 3" diff between bust and under-bust measurements (C cup) is actually small.
A 5" to 7" diff between bust and under-bust measurements is actually medium. It's not extra large at all.

Think about a typical, fit young woman who measures 34" bust, 24" waist, and 34" or 36" hips. That's not a giant boob size at all.
With a 24" waist, her under-bust measurement would be 27" or 28".
The difference between her bust (34") and her under-bust (28") is 6". That's a 28DDD bra. Or if a 30" band is more comfortable, she would wear a 30D bra.
But a lot of places would try to sell her a 32B bra.

I've seen lots of sexy celebrities who claim to wear a bra size with a band that is the same size as their bust measurement. How does that make any sense at all?
