Are lashes meant to change eye shapes?

Is this what women use it for or do women have different shaped eyes and lashes make it more noticable? I've seen some crazy lashes, some of them are big enough to be considered wings or fins, that stuff is pretty wild.

@12karen already illustrated the obvious effect, but there is still something to say about the whys. Hmmm we can just say girls are using lashes because it's a long-term tradition being ported over the centuries. It still doesn't explain why this tradition came to life. I can speculate on the effect/illusion of enlarged eyes, there is this idea that anyone is attracted to bigger eyes, because they convey cuteness?

They can make the eyes look bigger. Personally I do not like the idea of putting glue to fit the fake lashes into my eyelids it made me feel icky.
I have only tried that like it 3 times in my life.

So you have to use the glue? Maybe the uncomfortable feeling means you are using too much? Maybe if you just dip all the lashes into the glue and not pour it like toothpaste it will be better 🙂

You don't pour it HAHAHHA you just put just a little on the line thingy in order to glue them into the eye position where the eyelashes are supposed to be, I don't think it is possible to use fake eyelashes without glue

I don't know if this is a thing but aren't there clip lashes? Kinda like there's clip earrings for people that don't want to stab their ears with needles, does the glue part go on the real lashes or the eyelids behind the lashes 💀

It goes on the fake lashes on the inside part. Wait was I doing this wrong? You supposedly put on the inside part of the fake ones and you just carefully place it in the spot where your eyelashes are supposed to be

As for clip lashes I have no clue wouldn't that be dangerous though? 🤔

But then again we use GLUE what would be more uncomfortable than that?

How do you remove it tho? You just ripped it off like tape, they are saying it's easy to remove but from what I'm seeing there, they just pull it off, I would assume sometimes some of your real lashes remain stuck to the glue or is it special glue where you keep all your real lashes?

You slowly and carefully pull it off and it usually doesn't rip your eyelashes, at worse it might just rip one, but it is not nice to feel like you have something there, it feels uncomfortable. I mean my issue is putting it on and the duration not removing it lol.

Well thank you! The cat like-thing is caused by eyeliner on the top of my natural eyelashes and the combo of having almond shaped eyes lol, the fake lashes usually make the eyes look bigger

Either cat bling (using liquid eyeliner or eye pencil without mascara or cat bling with mascara or just mascara without cat bling or just eye pencil or nothing at all, depends on my mood. This week for example when I went out I didn't put any make up because I didn't feel like it lol. I don't wear fake lashes due to the fact that I put my comfort above making my eyes look bigger. I do the same with uncomfortable shoes or clothes I just can't do it.

How much time does it take to apply? There's rumors that women take forever to put on makeup so you not feeling like it probably saves time, you can get a coffee or something instead with that time lol

Do people ever shape their real lashes? With scissors or something, or a professional of some sort

For me? Less than 2 minutes lol. I get ready pretty fast.
Lol no no no don't do that with the lashes! What someone can do though is use mascara on them it has similar effect to fake lashes but not that intense. People mostly shape/pluck eyebrows though although I rarely do that once every a couple of months or so because I don't have much hair there in the first place and it doesn't grow uneven anymore
