Girls, Wearing a belt with Maternity jeans?

Have any of you successfully worn a belt with Maternity jeans that come with belt loops?
I’m pregnant and right now regular jeans fit me, but later on in my pregnancy I am going to buy maternity jeans with belt loops from Gap. I have some thin leather belts with smaller buckles that will not hurt my belly or be too tight when I wear them.
Last pregnancy my maternity jeans kept sliding down, I have a slim figure except my belly. I’d like to wear a belt and wanted to know if that’s safe for the baby? I’d probably front tuck my thinner shirts to show the belt off because I like that style.
