So, my hair is long right now. And it’s a pain in my ass when I don’t have it tied up. I only wear it down when I play hockey, so it looks good coming out of the back of my helmet, haha.
The rest of the time I do kind of a Pebbles Flintstone thing with it, with a headband, just there’s more of it than she has, and there’s no bone😝

Anyway, the problem comes when I sleep. I’m trying to learn how to care for long hair and not break it so I won’t have fly-aways that aren’t long enough to tie up and they frizz out. I was always sleeping with my hair tied up, but my hair stylist said that can cause breakage as I toss and turn. So I was trying to leave it down, and I use a sleep mask because my room gets bright too early, so I was trying to figure out if I should put the mask on first and let the hair fall over the band, or let my hair down and use the eye mask to sort of contain it. I don’t really like either, I hate the feeling of hair on my face.
So I was looking in the hair care section and I ended up buying one of these….

Here’s my question: those of you who use these or something similar, obviously we probably have different hair textures, but I’m struggling to put it on right. Like it works, but I’m not sure how to get it on cleanly. If I double over at the waist and let the hair hang, it comes down as I put the cap on. If I start with it down, same issue.
I guess in my mind I envisioned my hair (especially in the back) being “up” but loose inside the cap. I’m trying to avoid strays that come out and I can get caught on and accidentally pull😖 If you have locs with an undercut, this probably wouldn’t affect you, but if your whole head is dreaded up, that’s probably more applicable.
Any advice on how to cleanly tuck all of your hair in? Might be easier with locs than just loose long hair, but I’m curious, and I’m shockingly caucasian, so this is really outside of my realm of expertise😂
I was able to kind of grab it all into a bun, untied, and get the cap on over it. I also rolled the edge of the cap up, to unroll downward, instead of a pull. Worked ok last night. I look like a jabroni in this thing though🤣🤣🤣
