Body standards are so warped right now, and I get why you’re frustrated, but this mindset only poisons you.

Attraction isn’t a scoreboard where “skinny but ugly” vs “fat but pretty” wins. Confidence is what you’re seeing, and honestly, everyone’s allowed to feel hot.

Focusing on who “shouldn’t” feel attractive just drains your own energy and charm.

I noticed that with one of the friends I had that was skinny but ugly, she was constantly trying to preserve her youth, by wearing outfits for women in their twenties and thirties when she was in her fifties. Really short, tight things. She was very competitive. From memory. This was years ago. Maybe it’s a defence mechanism? It would be hard to accept that you’re ugly and have no shape and that most people won’t want you sexually. It’s worse in my opinion than being big and fat. I am big and fat myself and the one thing that men care about is not mostly your weight or size, but whether or not you have a pretty face. If you don’t and you’re female, life will be harder than it is for an ugly or average looking guy. Pretty girls will still date them. Good looking or ordinary looking guys are less likely to want ordinary looking or ugly women.




I never said this is fair. It’s completely unfair and I don’t like it for those women, who might be really lovely people and might deserve to be valued as they are. However, men are more shallow than women and that’s not likely to change, so instead of complaining about being big and fat, or having other body issues or issues with ageing, or being too thin, those of us who aren’t unattractive should just be thankful that we’re not unattractive.
