Yes. I loved doing that. I don't get to much anymore, cause there isn't any gum, I can really chew, these days. I make sure it isn't too big though, because I had made a huge one, once, and it popped and got stuck all over my face and in my hair

I stopped chewing gum in junior high school due to a medical issue with my jaw known as TMJ. I haven't chewed gum since.
