Fried bacon may be high in nitrosamines, which are carcinogenic and therefore bad to you health. But do people really care about their health?

One of the biggest risks of bacon is associated with two preservatives, nitrates and nitrites, that can form cancer-causing compounds. In addition to increasing your risk of colon and stomach cancer, eating processed meat increases your risk of prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, and dying from all types of cancer.

Seeing how many obese people walk the streets, mainly in the USA, I get the impression that they don't really care whether they will get cancer or not.

To sum up: While you may prefer crispy bacon, you are not doing your health a favor.
