I like syrup on my sausages usually. Jelly/jam & ketchup is a try for me, but I know both taste just as good.

I prefer something savory to dip them in like a soft yolk, laverbread or a dollop of hot mustard. Putting sausage on pancakes or drizzling them with sweet sauce is just wrong

Those are good ideas. I've always just liked dipping it in the maple syrup oozing on the plate while I had my pancakes. I like links if I order pancakes, patties are more for sandwich.

I remember one of my nieces when they were younger, and the school had breakfast for their lunch she was telling me everybody else thought it was gross that she put the syrup on the sausage. She just told them to try it, but they didn't want to.
