How should chips in a sandwich be arranged?

Question

Personally I think you need to select chips of the right size and arrange them in a single layer so there's no gaps and none poke out of the sides. It's ok to have them going in different directions as long as they all slot together.

I think people who just dump them in all higgledy-piggledy weren't raised right.

Arranged so the whole slice is covered. Preferably in at least three layers.

Obviously our American brethren will not understand there's a difference between french fries and chips because they think crisps are chips. This is the same dreadful lack of class that lead them to throw perfectly good tea into salt water in Boston, thereby rendering it unpalatable even to them.

Personally I like the bread to have a generous layer of butter melting into the potato goodness, and a little tomato sauce doesn't hurt.

Charles should really have had chip butties for his official coronation meal.

Here they only do it for breakfast and they also do it with hash browns which they sometimes call them home fries. Also here they call wafers chips and chips are called French fries,,,,, and they never have those kind of soggy fries that you get with fish n chips. I love the beanie or pea kind of side stuff that comes with them. But I just love potatoes, its my best vegetable, though its not a vegetable its kind of a carbohydrate, but its my best. Also in some Manhattan bars they serve fries and they dowsed them with American cheese, that's very good after some serious rounds of scotch.

I guess you British people call french fries chips well you don’t put french fries in a hamburger or a sandwich you put them on the plate anything on the side and dip them in catch up or pour ketchup on them. I like French onion soup a good quality soup for my side dish.
