Happy Birthday! belated, not here yet, over, early, you get the idea, hey at least I care! lol, What kinda cake do you want?

MonChou cake (MonChou is a Dutch cream cheese brand. Even though it's cream cheese, it is different from brands like Philadelphia. The recipe for the cake deviates even further from cheesecake, being exclusive to the MonChou brand of cream cheese and Bastogne cookies (Cake recipe on the back of Bastogne cookies box). It's more creamy, lighter and has a better bottom.) with cherry topping, advocaat/Hagelslag cake (Egg liquor cake with chocolate sprinkles on top. The cake itself contains so little alcohol that kids can eat it.) and aardbeien kwarktaart (translation: strawberry quark cake. No not the sciency stuff. It's more like yoghurt but sweet instead of sour.). Apparently all 3 are Dutch recipes and all are more similar to cheesecake than any of the cakes in the pictures.

These cakes are absolutely delicious. No idea how they have not spread around the world yet.

Also, cakes with bread-ish layers are usually a bit lackluster in tastyness. With chocolate cake and whipped cream cake as the exceptions, we usually only make those when we want a fondant decorated cake.

Maybe I just grew up in a family that cares more about the taste than the looks.
