A common cooking method here is to cram a load of root veg into a tray, half fill with stock and bang in a hot oven. The top goes crispy and bottom melds together. Here I've also chucked in fennel bulbs, mushrooms and leek.

So do you like roast veggies or boiled?

I love roasted veggies. They get kind of caramelized. But I like them cooked through and soft. I don't like al dente.

Yes, I like roast veggies, my late mom would make meatloaf and added potatoes, carrots and onions to roast them with the meatloaf. Sometimes celery too.

No, generally spoken I don't really like roasted vegetables. I nearly always steam them with salt and spices. By the way you forgot this among the choices ,0)

@strateguy632 Sure, steaming as you suggest is excellent, but I meant what is called in French "Etuver", which is done in a covered pan with the vegetables drenched in a little water with spices olive oil or butter. "Etuver" may be translated by "smothering", but then with food of course. Actually very easy to do and very healthy. The steaming as you mean is a better version for people following some particular regime and willing to keep the vegetables as natural as possible.
