Have you ever eaten Mochi?

Mochi is a Japanese rice cake filled with sweet filling like red bean paste or filled with strawberry or icecream or pieces are added in soup

I tried a Japanese confection years ago. It had a thin, whitish, raw dough around red bean paste. It didn't taste bad but wasn't very sweet. I wouldn't run out to get one of those again.

I've never had other kinds of mochi, though. Some of those in the photos look good.

I've eaten a lot of Japanese food that I really loved, mostly miso soups, but I've never had this.  Something about it looks kind of obscene. 😯

Omg yes and I love mochi mot a big fan of ice cream mochi but I love just love mochi with red bean, strawberries, cream, and/or just plain. I just love the texture and the taste. I just love everything about mochi. Haha

Yes, but didn't care much for it. You described it as sweet, but that is optional and not part of basic mochi. The mochi I've eaten, made by two different Japanese people, was not sweet at all.

Actually it was pretty bland and boring. No, it wasn't the cook because at least one of them was a VERY good cook. I've eaten a lot of her cooking and she is very good.

Think of it like marshmallow made from rice, but always soft, and firm with elasticity. It's semi-sweet, chewy, stretchy and usually has a filling. It's normally covered in rice flour to prevent it sticking to your hands.
