What makes a proper donut?

Do you prefer cake donuts or yeast raised?
I’ve always preferred yeast raised donuts. I enjoy the light and fluffy pastries. Cake donuts aren’t even close. I’ll go to a bagel with a sweet shmear before that! Ell oh ell!

There is a dessert food truck I see at events from time to time that makes some really unique & delicious donuts. I had a jalapeño maple bacon glaze donut & the above photo is close to it but not exact.

I like both: Dunkin Donuts Sour Cream and Krispy Kreme Glazed.

A donut; should be slightly crispy on the outside, soft and cottony on the inside. The glaze on it should be spread evenly and of course its taste should be the kind that cracks your palate.
