I would have been 14 when this came out, and I think it did influence me away from apple juice, a little anyway.

Although it wasn’t too long after that that a friend of mine who had a much older brother was able to get his hands on some Peppermint Schnapps to drink. We had a whole plan to sleep over at another friend’s house who had yuppie cokehead parents who stayed out til like 5 AM on the weekends, where we’d drink it and hopefully get faded.

So this idiot with the older brother shows sup on the big night with giant Thermos (basically like a mini version of those Gatorade barrels they’ll have on the sideline at a football game or something, probably like a gallon capacity), and we’re like “What’s in the Thermos? And where’s the booze?”

This dumbass…. I’m still mad, 30+ years later😂…tells us he mixed it all with OJ, “so it would go down easier.” He claimed he “made Screwdrivers”, because he apparently thinks that’s orange juice plus literally any kind of alcohol.

I’ll refer you back to a few paragraphs earlier, and remind you that this was, in fact, PEPPERMINT Schnapps. With orange juice.🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

It tasted like drinking OJ right after brushing your teeth🤢🤢🤢 And we of course just powered through it and drank it anyway, reminding this kid at every turn what a dumb fuck he was, lmao.
