but I wonder if a 5'6'' guy is o. k. to you girls?

Sure, but only if he doesn't complain about his height. If he is attractive to me and has good personality, that's what counts. I am 6'1" though so I doubt that you'd be comfortable with someone as tall as me. That's cool, I get it. Tall girls and short guys seem to get the short end of the stick in the dating world :(

I keep seeing that girls have a huge preference for guys that are 6 feet or taller.

I'm 5'2" so I can't tell the difference between 5'6" and 6' when I'm up close to someone. So yeah I would. And no, short is relative.
