What does it mean when a girl says Aw? For instance, this girl I know says it when I tell her about stuff I've done with my little niece and the other day she said it when I asked her to go to a movie and I told her I would pay for the her ticket.

Well with you talking about your niece, she probably thinks it's cute, if it's to do with the ticket, if you two end/ended up going out then it was probably her saying aww coz it was sweet of you, but if she made an excuse then it was probably her being like 'aw, that's so sweet, you're such a nice friend!' i know i did that when a guy who i liked as a friend asked me to go see a movie.

It can indicate that she thinks something is cute, or that she feels sympathy for you, or that she is grateful to you for being so thoughtful, or that she thinks you're sweet... It basically shows she cares about you.
