My girlfriend won't eat Infront of me?

We've been together for 9 months and she never wants to eat infront of me, we've never even been out for dinner. she will eat small things but she gets extremely uncomfortable you can tell. Why is she like that?

I suffer with severe social anxiety to the point I don't eat in public. I wait until I'm home which could be all day.
BUT when I'm with somone I have a close bond with, I'm not worried about eating in public or around them... Well, I won't lie, I do sometimes avoid it in certain situations. I do feel much more comfortable when they eat when I eat :/
But if she still doesn't want to eat around you no matter how comfortable you try to make it for her, that could be to watch a film and have your eyes on the screen than on her while she eats... And she still doesn't want to eat a proper meal, specially after 9 months, That is pretty bad : .. 9 months is an awful long time to still not feel at least 99.9% comfortable around you :|

The worse you can do is force her. I mean what is it you try to make her eat infront of you?
I know there's certain food I won't eat even infront of my mum like subway... Cos it's incredible messy!! And I honestly like to eat my subway as a pig :')

9 months and she isn't comfortable eating with you is bad news. If you marry her one day, isn't being comfortable with your partner essential to a happy relationship?

Anyways, she probably feels self-conscious and doesn't like it when people watch her eat. Maybe she eats a lot and she fears that you might judge her for that.

hmmmm... thats super weird lol...
i mean i dont like it when people stare when i'm eating... & when dating, i dont want my boyfriend to think i'm a pig so i'll try to eat correctly... but if i'm dating a guy for 9months... i wouldn't forever stay in the 'i have to appear correct' mode.

She has some eating problems maybe. Like eating slow or too fast, or making noise, or chewing with her mouth wide open.

It's a relatively common social phobia. I'm sure a therapist or doctor could help.

She's probably embarrassed about eating in front of you, I feel like that sometimes around people I'm not comfortable with. But since you've been going out for 9 months she shouldn't feel like like that? Maybe it would help if you didn't watch her when she eats? Or assure her your not bothered about the way she eats?

Sounds like an eating disorder. If she's really underweight then it might be anorexia. I am a recovered anorexic and I ate around people when I was anorexic but never sat down and ate a meal with other people around- partially because I never ate meals.

Maybe she has an eating disorder. Ask her why she feels that way. It's the best way to can get an answer.
Ask friends or family if she does that with everyone

She's probably insecure about her body. You as her boyfriend, should encourage her to feel better with herself. Compliment her and make her feel comfortable around you.

I used to do that.

I didn't eat big meals in front of my friends or my brother in law because I used to feel super self conscious. (Nervous, afraid of spilling stuff, or not knowing if I am eating properly, lol).

Insecurity. She feels something embarrassing could happen than causes you to like her less.

She could be self-consious with her weight. Someone called her fat one day, probley someone she trusted and now she's embarrsed to eat in front of you because she's afraid you'll judge her for eating
