I tried that when I was little and it didn't work out so well. But when I'm in a public restroom, actually pretty much anytime I'm not at home, I squat (for lack of a better word) over the toilet so I don't touch the seat. Just spread your legs far enough so you don't pee on yourself.

Yes, I've actually watched a woman pee standing up (although not a 'frontal view'). We were all out by the creek, drinking beer, and there she goes.

Basically, she arched her back way back, pulled up on her mons pubis (just above the clit), and there it went. Granted, towards 'end stream', it's likely inevitable to have the incidental 'drip', but she was successful and made no mess.

She got an 'atta' boy' when she made it back to camp. It was pretty friggin' hilarious, I'll have to say, but it can definitely be done!
