Is it a positive sign if a girl replies to my text message always but seldom initiates conversation with me?

So, I know this girl, I've been texting her nearly a year already, tried to talk to her over the phone as well. This girl replies my text message always, she will ask question like why, what, bla bla bla when I tell her something. Sometimes she would reply me with a long text message. Nevertheless, I noticed that this girl seldom initiates conversation with me, she would initiate text message only when she wanna know something from me when I stop texting her for a long time like 'how's your results.." Is this a positive sign?

Coz if you do , its about time you let her know it. After all, u've been textin 4 a year.

Get the topic around to relationships and then tel her. Shouldn't be difficult as she replies to your msgs...

At least, you can stop being confused about wats happernin.

Its certain that she likes u. Otherwise wouldn't reply always right?

Ask her man, girls being as they are, there's no sure way of knowin otherwise...

Well, she wouldn't text or reply if she was completely uninterested in you. She is taking time to talk to you! But I'm a girl, and I think guys enjoy it when sometime girls initiate conversation. So I always try to if I'm into him...

Bottom line: I think that you just just ask her out... you've know her for long enough that it wouldn't be weird! :)

I'd say it's positive. She sounds a bit unsure of you, as if she likes you but doesn't know if you feel the same way, and until she's sure she might not want to annoy you or reveal her feelings too much so she finds reasons to text you first.

Just a guess, but that's pretty much what I do when I like someone lol.

i'm guilty of this. I will chat back with any one. but if I'm not interested in him and it's kind of obvious he likes me, I'll never initiate conversations with him...i don't want to lead him on.

some girls I know will though, they just like the attention

There's this guy who likes me that has texted me at various times throughout the summer even though we're in different cities until school starts again in the fall. he'll say something about the sports teams we both follow, or about internship stuff, sometimes in a question form, sometimes not. I always say something back because I feel like it's rude just to ignore, like I like his company as a friend but I'm just not interested in anything more than that with him.
