Why do girls wear thongs?

I understand there are a variety of reasons. But it seems like most woman I have met seem to complain about wearing them, how they are uncomfortable, expensive, and so on. Yet they seem to have more pairs of thongs than other types of underwear. Why complain about it but still wear them? And yes I understand some woman will reply that they like them. Merely talking from previous experience.

I don't wear them, but most of the girls I know, usually wear them because it's sexy or because they want to hide underwear lines. I have a friend studying to be actress and usually wear clothes that requires underwear to be hidden.

However it's not comfortable to have a string in your ass. Some girls feel it's more comfy because the have gotten used to wear them, but if it was more comfortable to have a string in your as than to just have it covered, there would be more boys using male thongs.

That's why I said "there would be more" because I know there are male thongs, so there must be guys who use them regularly, but I don't know any boy who wears them, most of my friends (boys) prefer boxer briefs.

Besides I don't know why, but when I imagine a boy wearing a thong the first picture that comes to my mind is Borat wearing a mankini. Can't help it. 😅

They don't show any underwear lines, which given that the majority of women now wear exercise yoga pants out into public is a good thing. When I first started wearing thongs I hated them, but you get used to them in several weeks and theyre actually pretty comfy.
I find that theyre less expensive, as well.

That's what i also find interesting. They wear it because of the yoga pants but the pants tend to be more see through or revealing than things like skinny jeans. Also didn't realize they were cheaper.

That's a fair point in terms of cost. And with the yoga pants I was getting at that since they are more revealing wouldn't you want something to cover up more than a thong would.

Ahh... if you buy a cheap brand, sometimes, but I buy from Fabletics and they hold really well and even if squatting or bending over, you can't see anything.

for women to look good it always have to be uncomfortable or painful
Same goes for heels
both look sexy, can't deny that, but why not then just wear it for sex?
I think a lot of them get used to the discomfort but that doesn't mean its not there
I prefer to not suffer, cramps are enough a women must take + childbirth if you gotta have a kid

I've got a big booty. No matter what kind of underwear I wear, I will have a wedgie within walking 10 feet. Might as well start out with a small one (because less fabric) than constantly fix a huge wedgie.

More flexibility... and I don't havr to worry about underwear lines when I am wearing leggings. Now you may think, "then don't wear leggings" but I am a dancer. And even in dance class I don't want underwear lines
