Should a girl respond to a guy's drunk texts?

Recently a guy I met about a month ago has started texting me late like at 2 am, and I'm assuming these are drunk texts because all he says every time is "hey, hey!". I never respond right away because I'm usually sleeping since they are on weekdays like Tuesday. I text him the next day and he just tells me how it was a crazy night.

The thing is he only texts me first when he's drunk, however, if I text him whether he's drunk or not, he responds quickly and typically is engaged in the conversation.

Should I keep responding to the drunk texts? Or is he just texting because I was the only person to text randomly-or because he knows I would answer.

Also, I don't think it is a booty call because we live over an hour away from each other.

if you're awake, respond. if not, leave him. A few guys text me in the middle of the night and to a degree its good because you know that you are on their mind..one of my friends told me that he was in love with me during a drunken call and I asked him about it the next day and he admitted he had been feeling this way for a while. and my current boyfriend tells me all types of revealing things when he is drunk. so, if you are into this guy and you could pry some answers out of him during the drunken moments.

but if he's just a friend who you want to assure feels comfortable that he can call you at any time and you will be there for him whether its for silliness of not, then text him back (I have a close friend like that-he calls me all the time drunk and at times he just needs comfort and to know he has a friend to call)

but if he is just a guy that you are kind of acquainted to and you don't really care about him but respond because you don't want to be rude--these type of guys will keep disturbing your sleep if you answer them. if you don't care that much they won't care that you are non responsive, they are drunk and will forgive you for it when they are sober.

Haha oh man the moment when you had a crazy night and your hearts beating fast when you click on your sent box. I agree, it's a good time to get info. There are less walls up. Try to text him back one night and if you don't like it. Like he gets mean, or weird then just stop haha. Just tell him no offence but you're not going to text him back. He shouldn't be too offended. You never know what people will say. When he's drinking your on his mind, so he messages you. :)

I don't think you should respond to them at that hour. I do think you should let him know that if he really wants to talk to you he should text/call you when he's sober. If you don't address it he will continue to do this, and its not a good thing. Honestly it would p*ss me of if a drunken guy would text or call me anytime during the middle of the night. It says a lot about the character of the person. Something to think about.

Well I think if you enjoy texting him when he is sober and don't find his drunk texts annoying it maybe wouldn't hurt to text him when he sends you drunk texts. If you're attracted to him at all, you may find that he may accidentally spill the beans that he possibly likes you too haha.

Do whatever you want. I don't think it really matters. If you respond and he's drunk he probably won't remember anyway.

I wouldn't respond to the drunk tests especially if they're at 2 in the morning...next time you see him just call him out on it playfully by saying something like why did he drunk text you at 2am in the morning...and what was he trying to do...it'll force him to give you an answer and make him think that you may not be into it...

If its late and you think he's drunk.. Simply turn off your phone.. And respond when you think he's sober .. Tell him your phone was off.. Which is the truth.. And you just got his message...

Guys (in my experience) don't want to text first because it makes them feel vulnerable. So he might be texting you when he's drunk, because he wants to talk and alcohol has relieved him of his inhibitions. Don't answer his drunk texts, but the next day text him and say "Another crazy night? If you keep texting me I might start to think you like me" or something. That way he can set the record straight OR you've just given him the perfect opening to ask you out.

I say ignore the drunk texts that night. If you want to respond to them the next day, keep it light and as a joke between you two.

maybe he's embarassed you didn't reply straight away, so used the 'im drunk' excuse, for you guys to never talk about it again-oh the shame of him being blanked. maybe he works late and that's the only time he can speak?

yeah he always texted me saying he was sorry that he couldn't text because he was at work till 1030, so that's when he typically texted back.
