Why do guys get jealous so easy?

My boyfriend gets jealous real easy and I wanna know from a guys point of view why he does. He mainly gets jealous if I talk, or as he calls it "flirting", with other guys.

give a guy any sort of attention, he'll probably think you're flirting with him. so your boyfriend is quick to react. you're young though, don't get so tied down. if he's too overprotective that can turn nasty and you will wind up hurt, just be careful is all I ask

i was watching an old episode of jamie foxx show today. one of fancies old "friends" came to see her, they dressed up for an exhibit that jamie didn't want to go to and this guy tried to woo her and even asked her out (while still married). jamie knew he'd do that and when fancy had to confront jamie about the guy asking her out, she admitted that jamie was right and that jamie was OK for getting jealous. I mean after all, can you blame him ;)

Besides issues of insecurity, a lot of guys can be very territorial. It's uncomfortable to think that another guy is trying to come in and flirt with our girl. What may be just a funny conversation for you, a guy might interpret it as flirting, and your guy might interpret it as you being flirty with someone else which hurts.

For guys, our success is measured by what we can accomplish and what we're made of. So if it seems like our girl is flirty with someone else, we feel sub-par. And going back to the insecurity part, some guys have trouble feeling like he's the only guy you want to be with. He feels like you could leave at any moment, and he doesn't want that to happen.

I'm not defending anyone here, just laying it out.

He's insecure. He doesn't want to lose you so he feels threatened and upset when other guys are around you. You could try reassuring him that you're not going to cheat on him or flirt with other guys intentionally to hurt him. But if he continues to not trust you and other guys around you, even friends, then you need to reevaluate your relationship.

If you've done nothing to the contrary, he should trust you 100%.

If he really gets jealous for nothing, even when you have told him there is nothing to get jealous about, then he is the type of guy that I really, really don't like.

But these guys always seem to have girlfriends. No wonder some guys say girls always go for jerks. They exude confidence.
