Generally not in my day. It would be considered a wimp move. (ie you can't win a fair fight) If you won a fight by doing this, socially it would have been better to have lost.

It think it could happen as an involuntary reaction. It did happen to me once, I think I was angry and I responded with a kick. Maybe I wasn't planning to kick down there and It was accidental.
