Do you ever try on clothes at a store without underwear underneath?

I was talking with my sister the other day and won't get into details, but I ended up hearing that she was at the store and trying on yoga pants/ leggings without underwear underneath. I was like what? Again won't get into details but she told me that any clothes in which she will typically not wear any panty or thong under that she will normally also try them on without. She also told me that she has been trying underwear and bathing suits on bare since she was a kid. I told her that it was gross and she insisted that it was not and that most women did the same.

So I am wondering if its true.
