Girls, how many times have you heard other girls saying 'All men are the same.'? What is your belief? Irrespective, can the same be said about women?

I’ve heard it so many times, and said many times too (usually while I’m pissed off shortly after a breakup) but the fact is that me and every other girl who’ve said it is wrong. That phrase is more of a defence mechanism on our part when in fact there are men who are total fuckboys but there are also men who are kind, loving and family oriented and who will remain with you to the end of the line no matter what, and even though they are hard to find, they exist.

But you can say the same about women. Some of us just want to open our legs to every hot fuckboy that we find and then they’re are others who want to settle down with the love of their life, travel the world and start a family.

Many times since I can remember. I hate when people especially women generalize like that against men. There's good men and bad men everywhere and no not all men are the same. Give men a break. Some women can be pretty trash too.

I’ve heard it more times than I can count, from both men and women. These days I’m more vocal about my distaste for that phrase because it’s an unfair generalization. The question I often ask is “do you think you’re the same as every other woman/man”? I’ve never had someone say ‘yes I’m the same’, unless it’s warranted and they’re fine fitting the stereotype at the time. In general though it’s always some explanation as to why they’re so different, and to me that’s the whole point. We are all individuals and deserve to be judged fairly, not good, loyal men/women being grouped up with serial cheaters and players.

I guess such unjust generalizations are just easier for people. It also helps in making decisions. Although it is a different matter for whether they are fair or not.

Yes, unjust and very broad. Of course certain generalizations make things easier, like some women want to have large families, or some men are afraid of commitment. But saying “all” men and women are this or that just isn’t fair.

I hear that way too much. Anyone who claims all members of the opposite sex are the same has clearly just had issues with the type of people they choose to pursue

I think it's a dump phrase cause not "all men" are the same. There are genuine men in this world but it's sad that some good ones are crushed from horrible people they might have interacted or been with in their life. You can't help people who think that way because they either won't listen or they've dealt with too much to be able to differentiate the difference.

You can only hope they meet someone who can show them they're wrong.

I've heard it from men and women. Even I said something like this to be honest when I was hurt. But I know it's unfair and judging all people by those I've met is not right.
