I just realised that there’s nothing I want in the way of belongings, besides a huge diamond ring, which I can’t currently afford and a fancy dress that I’ll be able to wear from my mid thirties, into my forties and fifties if I buy it; which I can afford.

Maybe. I'm the same way. Around my late 20s, I kind of just stopped wanting material things. I got rid of a lot of stuff I never used and now I don't have a lot, but I'm happy. Have a lot of space and the stuff I kept I actually have a purpose for. Plus it's done great things for my bank account. We spend so much money on useless crap.
