Why do some guys like innocent girls?

I have been told I have a "innocent look" more than once. One guy even accused me of looking like a virgin. I get "cute" more than "hot." I hate amusing guys with my "shyness" though. (I am not shy but I just get uncomfortable when I get looks of amusement or when a guy is perpetually smiling at me) I do admit I am not experienced but I hate being found cute. Its annoying and kills the mood when I'm trying to be sexy. My innocent look is just my type of appeal I guess, what attracts men to it though?

I don't know if I can explain this right, but I'll try:

in my eyes an innocent looking girl might look as if she hasn't had a lot of experience and isn't "used" yet while still retaining beauty and attractiveness. this is all from an optical perspective. that's where the "virgin" part comes in. some guys might like virgins more, because the guy who has sex with her will be her FIRST. kinda like being the first person to climb a mountain. most guys like being the first person to do something in a lot of things, including sex (or I take pride in being the first to give a girl an orgasm, when she might have never had one with her past lovers, which isn't too umcommon lol).

Girls that appear cute and innocent seem less likely to cheat and in need of protection from this cruel world. It makes us feel strong and sexy to be able to be protective of a woman.

I have the same problem...it's quite irritating being called cute often, I feel like I'm being compared to puppies and kittens and bunnies.

I'm also told I look like a virgin a lot, my friend actually went so far to say that's the reason guys keep trying to hit on me on the street...she's totally out of it.
