Why do some women still call their fathers "daddy"?

I find it strange how some grown women or even older teen girls choose to call their fathers daddy. If it's a cultural thing, then I don't mind it. However, I've watched movies/shows where women would do this, and I just don't find it that cute at all even if they're labeled to be a "daddy's girl."

Sometimes it does seem a little weird the way some girls call they dad "daddy". But I think it's usually just cuz they real close with they pops, you know? Like they been callin' him that they whole life.

I think for a lot of em it's more of an affection/comfort thing than anything sexual. Like they dad always been they rock so they comfortable with that name. Could also be a cultural thing for some families too like you said.

I'll admit it does make me a little uncomfy sometimes hearin' a grown woman say it. But I try not to judge too much - people show love in different ways. As long as they ain't doin nothin inappropriate, I say let em call they dad whatever they want.

End of the day it's between them and they fam, so we prob should worry 'bout our own situations ya feel me? Hope this helps explain it a bit!

People have different names for their dads. Dad, daddy, papa, father, etc. If it’s not a title that you personally want to use, then that’s perfectly okay! But telling other people what they should and shouldn’t call their parents isn’t right.
