Why do girls burp?

All my guy friends burp through their nose. It’s not hard. But most of the girls I have know burps all the time and it’s weird?

Dude, girls burping is totally normal, don't even sweat it. Here's why:

- Same reason as guys - everyone's stomach produces gas when digesting food. It's gonna come up one way or another.

- Society makes girls feel like they gotta be dainty and hold it in more. But that shit's uncomfortable! Natural to let 'er rip sometimes.

- Some chicks just straight up can't burp through their nose. Anatomy is different for everyone.

- Could be telling them they can't burps as kids so now they're less practiced at the sneaky kind.

- They feel more comfortable around you and their friends to just let it out instead of clenching all meal.

- We all eat the same questionable cafeteria food. Burps are a given no matter what's in your pants!

Next time a girl burps, just laugh with her. Who cares man, girls gotta digest too. Don't be such a little bitch about body functions, we're all human!

Why do most of the guys I know Especially when around girls never do that and always burp through their nose. I don’t think it’s a gene thing, we all have the same anatomy when it comes to breathing and burping. There is a large difference between the sexes when it comes to this. I just don’t get it. Why do women burp more than men?

You know, that's a really good point man. If it's not a genetic thing, there's gotta be some other reason why it seems like girls burp out loud more than dudes do. I've actually wondered about this too. Here are some possible reasons I can think of:

- Social norms - Like I said before, it's seen as less "lady like" for girls to burp, so they might hold it in more in public. But alone or with other girls, they feel more comfortable letting it out.

- Pressure - Maybe girls feel less pressure to always look and act "dainty" when they're just with each other. We guys might put more pressure on ourselves to not do anything gross in front of girls.

- Body shape - Could be something to do with girl's bodies being curvier and their stomach/throat area being narrower. Might be harder for them to burp through their nose like we can.

- Comfort levels - In general, girls seem to be more open about body functions with their friends. We guys tend to give each other shit more if we burp or fart in front of each other.

Not really sure the real reasons, but those are some ideas. At the end of the day though, we're all human! Might do girls a favor if we stopped judging them for normal stuff like burping anyway.

I think it's mostly just a girl social norm now that is popular.

I live closely with girls co-ed in a four year group program I've been part of and have a lot of good female friends. Most of them routinely burp mouth open and some are quite loud and proud. I guess their friends do it, so they do too.

Because of this, I have heard the topic come up in conversation a few times (disapprovingly on occasion) and most of them pass it off as a natural body function or something that's not a big deal.

Most of my guy friends think it's cool and down to earth so I guess that doesn't hurt. The division between sexes isn't as much as it used to be and I think girls are more relaxed in social situations than generations past because of this.

I was at a fire not long ago and the entire night, none of the guys burped out loud, but all five of the girls did at least once. Two were really obnoxious about it. The girl I sat next to, burped a few times with her mouth open, kind of brining them up through her throat, though it was subtle, you could still hear it.

Because they too are human beings, and it is right that they let themselves go sometimes without being judged, unfortunately today's society imposes a certain dictatorship on women to behave in a certain way and this is totally wrong.

I have always loved women who did not conform to these social constructs, who were not afraid of their bodily functions.
