All my life I’ve always been told how soft my voice is. Mostly this comment came from women. But I’ve always wondered from a guy’s perspective if y’all prefer a loud woman, or a woman that has a soft, feminine voice.
Anonymous(18-24)+1 yI like women who act like women, which is to say, a nurturer. We don't give a damn how many degrees you have, how many people you beat up, how much taekwondo you do. Ironically, the most respectful woman I've ever met was the manager of an apartment building. She treated everyone with courtesy. Her background? A Notre Dame grad and 8 years in the Marines. Literally every female I've ever met who tries to impress me with her badassery and tough girl tude doesn't have 1/10th of her resume, and that's a fact. We don't like someone with an identity crisis.

I prefer a soft, feminine voice and I think most men do. There may be times to be loud, like in a crowded place, but generally-- yes. I want women with soft and feminine voices. I don't like raspy, loud voices. It's revolting.

Anonymous(18-24)+1 yGuys tell me I'm too loud and women tell me I'm too quiet. This isn't really an answer to your question, it just occurred to me that I have no idea what volume my voice actually is. I guess I could take that as men preferring soft spoken women, since they're generally more likely to complain about my volume.

I’d think some to most do from my knowledge? Every guy I’ve gotten to know romantically or went on a date always love my soft spoken voice. Women seemed to love my voice too lol. Now I think it’s almost everyone I’ve come across as I’m writing this out loud tbh lol.

+1 yI think we love soft spoken women. Nobody likes a loud woman or man for that matter.

+1 yNot very much but I don't mean I like loud women either (that's even worse). I like women with a firm but inquisitive voice, able to balance ladylike courtesy with a degree of modest confidence. Picture the classy and well-educated woman at a formal party able to hold more than small talk or the voice of a respected but very open-minded professor. It's not so soft that I feel as though she's speaking to me with a motherly tone, but it's not loud either. It's firm and courteous.

Take Sigourney Weaver as an example. I love her vocal quality. It's a bit deeper but still very feminine and it communicates to me an inquisitive mind, sophistication, class, maturity, and she can become very assertive and outspoken but only when she's clearly in the right and everyone else is so wrong (ex: her passionate speech in Aliens to try to persuade people to take the xenomorph threat very seriously). You can picture her with her voice having the most intelligent conversations at a formal party while fluently navigating through the crowd.

She's also capable of switching to a soft-spoken voice when she's speaking to children which is a bonus (maternal skills) but her default voice towards adults isn't so soft-spoken.

Coming back to this and reading through other people's thoughts here, I might be a bit unusual but I don't conceive of the ideal woman as one who is "most feminine". She would instead have a mixture of what we might traditionally call both "masculine" and "feminine".
For example, if we associate being soft-spoken, agreeable, and nurturing with "feminine", then a woman who is always so soft-spoken and agreeable and nurturing doesn't seem to me like an ideal mother since she might spoil and fail to discipline her children. Instead I think the ideal mother is one who knows when to be soft-spoken and when to be firm and possibly even the most extreme cases where it's productive to be loud, when to be more agreeable and when to be more assertive, etc.
Same for what I conceive to be the ideal father: he would be able to switch between "masculine" and "feminine" as appropriate for the situation like a military leader who might normally be quite assertive and firm in his voice to encourage discipline, but makes exceptions when a soldier is demoralized and down and show a rare but very sensitive, soft-spoken side of him, telling him softly that he too is afraid to show empathy but then encouraging him with a firm hand to get back on his feet to boost the soldier's morale and fill him with courage.
Any ideal human being as I see it balances feminine and masculine this way. So a woman who is always soft-spoken is one I consider a bit too imbalanced.
+1 yNo one likes loud women. Why do you think there are so many videos of loud, argumentative, toxic women whining about how they can't find a man. You don't see videos of soft women because they don't have anything to complain about because they are likely married and happy. Femininity vs masculinity. Women keep acting like guys then wonder why guys don't want them meanwhile feminine women get married quick and remain married and happily.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI know I do. It’s extremely attractive. As I was growing up I always liked Joey Lauren Adams voice. Not only was she cute, especially in Dazed and Confused but I loved her voice. Two things that drive me crazy besides a girl’s physical sexual appeal, her voice and braces.
40 Replyi grew upwith ASMR without even knowing anything about it. So i've always loved to hear a softly spoken women's voice. For year's i thought i had something other's didn't have. Personally a softly spoken ladies voice is on of the most beautiful sounds i have ever heard up to this very moment. l hope this comment somehow helps you.
00 ReplyThis is a difficult question. There is no right or wrong answer here, we are all different and so a soft voice will be desirable to some, and not others.
For me, i never like to be with the loudest person in the room. I do not crave attention, so for me, a softly spoken lady is more attractive than a loud lady
00 ReplyI definitely prefer a woman with a soft voice than a woman with a loud voice. Then again this is coming from a mathematician, loyal, honest, surprise her with flowers, monogamous, nice guy kind of person. Other men might have a different preference
00 ReplyIt depends if you're too shy and anxious and you always wanna melt into the background it's not that attractive. But a woman that let's me have peace and quiet definitely is XD
