Why does my daughter always only wear one sock?

My daughter only ever wears one sock. It doesn't matter what she does. Her right foot is always without socks. She always wears a sock on her right foot. She does this even when she is wearing shoes. I can't get an answer from my daughter as to why she's doing this.

So when I first got out of the military I dated this girl who did the same. We had partied one night, the next morning she only had one sock on. I said damn you got so drunk you lost one sock. She said no I always sleep like that. I said sure you do. She said no I do because it keeps my body regulated temperature wise. Because she always slept in sweats w a shirt, sometimes shorts. But we liked to sleep w the fan on. But sometimes you’d get too cold but you didn’t want to turn the fan off. So then you we’d sleep w a blanket sometimes, but it would get too warm even w the fan on,. A sheet was too thin. So what she’d do was take one sock off, leaving that foot uncovered so that way she’d still get the cool air keeping her at a good temperature. I thought it was stupid but even to this day I do the same.

Does she have ASD? It could be a sensory issue. I’ve met a few high functioning people with ASD who only ever wore one sock.

Even as a small child, she would occasionally take off her right sock. But now she only lives with a sock on her foot every day.

I like massaging one of my feet so I often remove one shoe or one sock. I sometimes don't put my sock or shoe again and even remove the other ones
