I am from a conservative family so yeah (not fully in touch with everything)... I see thongs so often in online shops commercials, Instagram, clothes hauls and etc. They seem to be a top choice nowadays. ( Not only lingerie or bikini but also cotton sport sets of bra and panties and etc)

I don’t speak for everyone, but they are definitely my go to undies. I find them more comfy than any other type. As for bikinis, I wear them as well but am choosy about where i wear them.

Yeah. Both thong underwear and thong bikinis. Thong undies are my go to style. I wear thong bikinis as well but am choosy about when and where I wear them. At least where I am and the people I know and see, both are pretty mainstream and common. Especially thong underwear.

They're more for if you don't want panty lines. Since there's less material, you're more likely to have tan lines, but they'll still exist.

I understand though that because there's less material it may feel a little more "exposed", so, if you don't want to do it, you don't have to.

No, I was talking about the change of a general norm. I remember thongs as something more extra, close to lingerie due to bigger exposure. I get the tanning factor of thong bottoms. I remember the times when girls wore usual panties ( it's called like bikini style) with a bit of coverage. That was the norm. Thongs were one of a more revealing styles but not the common everyday underwear. What's happening now, no idea

My experiences.. I've known a lot of woman who had repeat yeast infections cease when they stopped wearing thongs. They aren't comfy. Thankfully the only person that matters to me doesn't find them attractive.
