Because it makes them feel like the man appreciates their beauty, as in their looks, and a shorter less strong guy may make them feel less feminine because they may appreciate the muscle or strength of the women, not the looks which many women don’t prefer?

there are for sure women, who like ONLY strong and tall men... Most men aren't strong and tall, and most of them are in relationships...

so I don't agree...

I prefer smart men, with witty humor, who can excite my mind... because in the end... I will talk, laugh, or argue with his mind, not his height or muscles...

I’m not sure how appreciating one’s beauty has anything to do with why most women choose taller men. Any man can think a woman is beautiful, but not every man is going to make her feel safe and secure. Of course a short guy can do that too, but in most cases a woman will feel safer with a man taller.
