Hmm, that's kind of a random thing for your mom to point out, bro. I'm not totally sure why she would say that to you while you were just getting some water from the faucet.
It could be that she was just making casual conversation and trying to engage with you in the moment. Sometimes parents can say little things like that without any deeper meaning behind it. They just kind of make an observation and comment on it.
Or it could be that she was trying to make a point about your water habits or something. Like maybe she's noticed you filling up your bottle from the faucet a lot and she's wondering if you have a preference for that over, say, bottled water.
Either way, it doesn't really seem like a super loaded or significant statement. Your mom was probably just making a light remark in the moment without much deeper intention behind it.
My advice would be to not read too much into it, man. Sometimes parents just say random little things without there being any big hidden meaning. Unless she followed it up with more commentary or seemed to be leading somewhere with it, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Just take it at face value - she probably just observed you filling your bottle and made a casual comment about it. No need to overthink it or assume there's some deeper meaning there. Play it cool, and if she brings it up again, you can ask her directly what she meant by it.
But for now, I wouldn't stress about it too much, bro. Moms can be weird sometimes, but usually they're not trying to be shady or start something. Just go with the flow and don't get too worked up over a random little comment. 'Preciate you reaching out about it though, homie.
Uhhhh... because she notices that you drink funky faucet water and not spring/bottled? Why are you wondering why your mom told you that? Are you thinking she was being weird? That's your mom!
