Why would a woman ghost me after she was the one who pursued me?

Girl I worked with 15 years ago saw me on a dating app and she stopped by work. (Same place) we both worked at. She asked for my number and wanted to get a coffee sometime. We texted for about a day and a half. I asked her what day works for coffee she said Thursday? I suggested a time in the afternoon she said that’s too late I have my son. (Her son is 4 years old) I get it a single mom with a young kid doesn’t have a lot of free time l. That was the last time she messaged me. I understand she probably moved on or is busy but i just curious why a girl would stop messaging even after she approached me and seemed interested. I sent 2 messages as follow ups and nothing so im dropping it but just wanted to get some insight from people.

I haven’t sent her a text since Sunday morning. I’m waiting to see if she responds but I know it’s 100% chance she won’t.

Good riddance i guess, but i don't mean it in a judgmental way. You are not what she was looking for. i have the impression that women rarely use dating apps for slow and steady trust stuff. ㅤ

Your guess would be as good as ours, and in that respect you already answered the question by stating “I know she could have moved on or is busy”. Along with these guesses, I’d add having a change of heart to the list, but unfortunately none of these assumptions would give you closure. I think that’s what you’re really after since she ghosted instead of simply just saying she was no longer interested. That’s another one we don’t know about, why she’d ghost someone who she’d still have to see regularly at work or risk those awkward encounters. In any case, I’d just let it go, this would be on her not you.
