Not sure if this woman likes me or not?

Recently, I met a young woman at a transport company. Initially, I acted indifferent towards her. I was not unattracted to her, but also not attracted either - at least to start with. I payed little attention to her. As time went on, I happened to bump into her on passing at the depot. As we approached each other, I just said alright (as I did not care), she responded alright, how are you? I am good, thanks for asking. I ignored her and kept it moving.

Over the last few weeks her demeanour changed. When she saw me she would double glance upon realising it was me and wave enthusiastically. A couple of days later, We were passing. She saw me at the last moment and waved enthusiastically and then locked eyes with me and maintained eye contact for about 3 to 5 seconds before I passed her.

Last Friday, she saw me and looked at me on passing and waved, but not enthusiastically. I ignored it and carried on with my job. I then saw her about an hour later, I was stationery as she passed and she saw me and gave a flirty wave and smiled. Her face also lit up when seeing me. I read that her face lighting up is a micro expression and a sign of deep attraction.

Last Saturday, I saw her and she looked straight ahead, but waved. No enthusiasm, just looked straight ahead. She did this on the return journey when she saw me.

On Thursday As I approached her in my vehicle, she waved (but enthusiastically as before) but would then look right and then left as we was about to pass each other, but would not look at me. Then, later that day, I gave her the peace sign by holding up two fingers and she slowly mirrored but looked away while doing it.

Today I saw her and she waved again, but would look straight ahead. Again, as we passed, she looked straight ahead but as we passed her eyes darted leftwards. Her face remained facing forward.

Is she angry? Is she hurt after putting herself out there and feeling rejected? Has someone at the depot bad mouthed me? Was she playing games?

You realize that nobody else except for her can tell you how she’s personally feeling… right? If you’re curious or have genuine concerns that she’s upset or something then be an adult and have a conversation. Clear the air, ask her how she’s feeling and tell her where your head is at as well. At least then you’ll have a clear idea of where she stands and how you should handle interactions with her going forward.


I personally feel as though you could be reading too deeply into certain behaviors, which I don’t say to be discouraging, I’m just someone who’s very prone to an “enthusiastic wave”. I’m also someone who tends to hold eye contact because it’s just the polite thing to do vs looking everywhere but your face. But I understand how these actions could be misleading to certain men.
