My dad and I didn't get along much at all. He was pretty misogynistic, treated my mom like a servant and nurse (even though she actual was a nurse at her job) even though she made more money than him, and he taught my brothers that they should treat their wives the same (thankfully my youngest brother doesn't act that way at all).

My mom and I are way closer and she was accepting when I came out. Her and my wife dont always get along but she still is super supportive even knowing im in 2 relationships.
