How do you know if a shy girl likes you?

I know some girls who are super confident and will call guys "cute" to their face, kiss them on the cheek spontaneously.. telegraphing interest loud and clear.

But then there are shyer girls.. the type who never text first or initiate conversations. How can you tell if they are interested/want to be approached?

Also, when dancing with a shy girl, I've found that they dance facing away from you, grinding. Is this because face to face is too familiar for them? How do I kiss them?

Shy girls are delicate. It's like a bird... you can't just go and pet a bird when you see one in your yard... you have to make her comfortable first. smile, eye contact, say something but don't get into her personal space. she's scared of you. she needs time to get comfortable. little smiles and hellos will build her confidence up and then you can get closer and get to her real personalty which is usually lovely.

Just let them know you're really into them. They're probably shy because they're insecure, so just let them know that you find them pretty, funny etc. And about the kissing part, just 'guide' her to you haha, take her hand, say cute things, make her feel comfortable, make her sit on your lap. + If she grinds you, she's probably into you, so just go for it.

Just approach them, say hey strike a conversation, smile, just give her attention. If she stares at you that's a good sign! Or just ask for her number, see if she opens up more!

all I can say is that it will take quite a while. You'll have to make her feel comfortable with you first which will probably take about 2-3months? Initiate texts with her perhaps twice every week and share stuff about yourself and asks her about things she likes etc. AND VERY IMPORTANTLY, smile at her and talk to her in person when you see her

As a shy girl I wouldn't even flirt with a guy unless I was almost certain that he liked me. You might just have to be obvious in your flirting and see how she reacts. If she really is shy, then she might appear to resist your advances even more. You might just have to let her know that you like her. Otherwise, shy girls will probably never give you any real signs that you like them. Just try befriending her first so that she isn't creeped out.

sorry- I mean what are the signs that they want to be approached? I know sometimes girls will just try to stand near you to create opportunity for you to initiate a convo with them. Are there any other ways that girls passively show interest in a guy (giving him the go ahead to open up a convo?)

Start a simple conversation and if she continues it then that's a good sign. She might hover near you. If you catch her looking at you, that's a good sign too, but she probably won't maintain eye contact because you'd make her nervous. If you do make eye contact, see if she blushes or looks down afterward. This shows that she was actually looking at you and she was nervous that you caught her.

I'm not sure how to answer this one -- especially the part about the dancing. You have a specific shy girl in mind?

She got really aggressive while dancing, but when I tried to turn her to face me she didn't seem to understand what I was doing. She just wanted to grind and run her hands up my legs?

And this is sort of incongruent with her other behavior, because she doesn't hook up, or really flirt.. she's super quiet.
