Why do some girls sniff guys?

I've had a few girls in my time walk up and hug me and just take a sniff at the same time. Some are obvious, some try and hide it. I shower often and wear deodorant but I consider myself quite musky if you get me. They always say I smell good but I find it odd. So why sniff a guy?

Sometimes I even get sniffed after excerise again still not in a bad way. Just a bit confused really what's the purpose and the gain?

You must smell good. I like the way guys smell as long as they aren't all gross and sweaty. Even if you don't wear cologne there's a certain natural scent that every man has.

By the way, it's been proven that women have a much better sense of smell then men especially when they are on their period. Call it a product of evolution-- apparently women can tell from smell if you are biologically different enough from them to have healthy children. Brothers and close relations don't smell good to their sisters and such. Get what I mean? That's what makes guys smell good to girls? Wow that was a dorky answer lol sorry.

Either:

a.) you smell good

or

b.) it's just weird crap girls do.

It's probably the animalistic/dominance thing girls have. Like, if another girl is present and we consider her a threat, we'll do things to show that you're ours…we'll hold your hand, nuzzle against your neck, or heck...even sniff you.

But most of the time it's because we think you smell good.

i do that to my boyfriend all the time. yeah it's because you smell good. it's either nice cologne or your natural male smell. consider it a good thing because when a guy smells good it's always a plus :)

Women love the smell of a man (assuming they aren't smelling like B.O.). One of my older female friends told me she'll literally pick up her husband's shirt after a day of work and smell it. That's the weird stuff chicks do man.

UPDATE: again... it has to do with the scent the body gives off during/after exercise... just primal instincts because that means the guy is strong, good for procreation and so on...

I just find it a bit odd I do the same with hair conditooner on a girl because I am tall. But I don't get why most is when I get sniffed after I excerise.
