Girls, what are you thinking when a guy sits next to you?

I started a class the other day (new semester of college) and when I went to sit down, I first sat on the opposite end of the table from the cute girl I saw. I then decided, oh, what the heck, why not just sit right next to her. I did it for three reasons

1. I wanted to be able to see better

2. I wanted her to be my study buddy (I would later ask her if she "took good notes"

3. What do I have to lose?

So, assuming she thinks I'm attractive (probably not but..it's whatever) and assuming she's unattached (again, probably not, but it's whatever) what is going on in your mind when a guy decides to sit right next to you and I mean RIGHT next to you.

Keep in mind, she's very shy and..we actually have quite a few mutual friends between the two of us (old high school friends)

Try to start up conversation since you both have mutual friends. have that be the ball rolling tactic. Instead of thinking "Do you take good notes?" because I would consider that a motive to talk to me and I would think of it as random. You should take small steps if you want to just talk to her and not take a huge leap into the notes. The idea of mutual friends should break the ice quite easily and the ice should be thinner in that category or at least more than "notes" ice haha

Keep in mind, I asked her that when the teacher started talking about how you might want to get a study buddy.

then have flowy conversation and not have your conversations be alllll about the class... things that you have in common will make the ball rolling A LOT faster

According to my friend she would get reaaaaaaalllyyyyy excited and happy and would literally make her year

I love it when a cute boy comes and sits by mean. I figure that it at least he wants to get to know me, which is always a good start. Strike up a conversation, find out about her, and then hook up a study group. Who knows where this will go?
