What does it mean when a guy calls you cute?

he said I have a very nice smile and that I am incredibly cute. What makes a girl cute? What's the real definition of "cute" in a guy's dictionary? Is it another way of saying you're pretty because saying to her you're pretty would sound very serious you prefer saying cute instead? Or you say it just to give her a compliment when you're not really attracted to her and don't know what to say? When do you say you're cute? Why do you say it? What kind of relationship would you like to build with a cute girl? Thanks :)

cute, hot, sexy, beautiful, pretty, gorgeous. All these words have a bit of a different meaning to each person in the world. They are, for the most part, universally accepted as compliments.

To me, it means you have this "sweet and innocent" thing about you. Since those are the girls I like, it is a very good compliment.

It's definitely a complement. Although I would say it can be used in a variety of ways, albeit with different meanings. Generally I would say pretty and cute are synonyms. I think a lot of times it really depends on how a person says it. I would say you're cute if I thought someone was funny, sweet, pretty or generally nice. With regards to the kind of relationship I would build with a cute girl it would really depend on the person.

my guy friend said there are 3 types: cute, beautiful and hot. Hot you just want because she's hot, cute is that she's cute/fun/adorable/silly, and beautiful is the all in one perfect, gorgeous, smart, amazing woman. Is that the case?

I guess I would agree with that. Personally I would use gorgeous as opposed to beautiful and would say hot/sexy are one in the same.
