Why do women hate beards?

Question

This is something I've thought about for a while. Every guy I talk with think beards look badass but when talking with girls or seeing their answers on this site. They hate it, why?

I don't know exactly what kind of beards you're referring to, but there was this cashier

at that grocery store that I had my eye on and he had a beard. It wasn't a full on one,

but he kept growing it and I thought it was sexy! Now if you mean like, a beard like the

members from ZZ top have, I can see why girls don't like that. But, if you just mean

a nice beard in general, then I like it a lot! I don't know why a girl wouldn't it's attractive,

but guys who are clean shaven , are attractive too! I guess it depends on the

man behind the beard lol, you know? I suppose it's all about preference.

P.S. I like your icon, Alf is awesome! I use to watch that show all the time, I even had

an Alf hand puppet lol. He had a hawaiian shirt on and everything, but I think I lost

him in FL when we went there on vacation, back when I was in the 2nd grade : ( poor Alf!

A real beard like this     no, I don't hate it but I would find dating someone like that rather hard. But something like a five o clock shadow or even a bit more     that's hot Too long just looks messy and it doesn't feel really good on our skin either. Less facial hair also gives you a younger, healthier and more active look

not true. I think the only thing you really need to worry about it's the hitching for her, as for sexiness, they find it sexy. Although, with the new frontier of male castration and feminisation the metrosexual men is now appearing into reality. So be that, and be whatever women want you to be, dress how they want you to dress, and they will say how nice of a guy you are, whilst really holding you in contempt and hate you, and f*** senseless the guy who does not give a damn about what they say... and has a beard! Women are split between brain and p****. The brain creates a nice angelic image of herself like "I'm this this and this, and I like guys like this this and this". Then reality hits home, her p**** takes over and contradicts e-v-e-r-y single thing she said. Listen to the p****.

Even if the guy has a well groomed and well kept beard it doesn't change the fact that hair traps in dirt, dust, tons of bacteria and yes even smell. Quite disgusting, don't you think? It also looks unkempt which is most definitely a turn off. Not to mention kissing a guy with a beard is the worst, it makes my skin all irritated and itchy.

Nothing beats smooth, clean shaven skin!

I think a lot of guys with beards would look better without them, which is why I'm generally not a fan. It's their choice though. But you're right  -- one of my guy friends is really insecure because he can't grow a full beard/mustache, even though he looks so much better without facial hair!

Well I hate facial hair in general and I'm not crazy about anyone having hair anywhere other than their head. lol

But the biggest thing is that I don't think kissing a guy with a beard(or any facial hair) would be fun. Plus all a guy has to shave is his face. I have to shave my legs, underarms, and bikini line. And then shape my brows etc...I think the least he can do is shave his face.

I don't hate beards, its just that it ages the guy by several years. I think a face with very little facial hair gives a more younger, boyish appearance which is more attractive to me.

I don't know about everyone else but above all else, they hurt my face! I have quite sensitive skin and they either tickle me or scratch me (depending how thick the hair is)

I just don't like the look of them, I don't mind stubble or even a bit of growth, but I don't like full blown beards.

Plus, men out there don't like them too.. my dad hates facial hair for instance. A lot of my male friends have commented to me they don't like them because their face gets too hot.

How many guys do you know actually take the time to wash their beard before going down on a girl? Honestly... unless a guy is coming straight out of the shower, that beard is harboring who knows what? Blech! Yet again, how many guys do you know wash their beard after going down on a girl... again, blech!

And tbh unless it's lumberjack style, it REALLY doesn't feel like anythin but a bunch of teeny pins sticking into your skin

Some of us don't HATE beards, and sure if a girl wants a guy that looks badass as well, she will have no problem with it either. However, girls find it awkward when kissing and being intimate if there is a HUGE beard tickling their face and such. it just isn't as flattering as a little scruff or a smooth shave. There are women out there who don't care. :)

I don't hate them, but I don't love them. Yes, they do say facial hair makes a man look older, but some men can really wear beards.

Some men/guys makes it look hot!

But some men just look horrible.

Beards are sexyyy! Well scruff is sexiest. BUT scruff causes horrible horrible scruff burn of the face. Longer beard hair does not cause it! As long as they're well groomed, I know lots of chicas who like the bearded bros.

only a handful of men can rock it, I've seen some pretty sexy men rock them! but I don't like full grown out bushes on their face like bob ross     just a light shadow or very finely trimmed like this

Cause it can get a bit messy I guess. Maybe also cause it doesn't feel great when you touch it or even kiss the person or something and have their rough beard hair up against your face hahaha.

What they really love is a 5 o' clock shadow though. Shows some masculinity while not getting messy.

I think the beard looks rugged/manly so maybe initial atraction for clubbing etc. But gf's have usually asked me to shave cause they say it scratches or tickles them when kissing or canodling ;P

Well beards make a guy look much older than he really is plus when kissing a person with a beard its not comfortable at all. Girls tend to go with a cleaned shaved guy because its more comfortable to smooch

The girls who thinks beards look bad are the ones who don't want men, they want androgynous boys with babyfaces and bones so thin you could break them with your little finger. No idea why a heterosexual woman would want that! lol

Honestly it's just a little bit of a turn off to imagine kissing the guy and feeling hair on your lips or face the entire time.  I wouldn't say I "hate" it but it is a turn off.

Once over grown it hides your jawline, I have a thing for guys with a strong jawline. So no I don't really like them. 5 o'clock shadow is fine though.
