Girls, do maxi pads really feel like diapers?

Wondering what pads like kotex pads etc feel like? I see commercials for tampons that say they do feel like you're wearing a diaper.

I mean, it makes sense - after all they really are mini diapers: same material, used for adsorptions.

I don't think they feel like diapers. I can't even really remember what wearing a diaper was like.
