Have you ever been present when someone had a seizure?

I have and it was a really horrifying experience for me. If so, what would you do or HAVE you done in such an emergency?

I have, seen that and I knew to move furniture so the victim would not injure themselves

I am a nurse and I knew what to do in such an emergency

I was horrified, and did not know what to do to help the seizure victim

Both instances, it happened at a DMV office, and one time was a fellow employee, a woman, and it happened right in front of me. The other instance was a customer that had a seizure in the front row seats, and I am sure it horrified most everyone. Probably most do not know what to do in an emergency like tha.

I have. This girl from college, we used to have a study group together for A&P. Scared the shit out of me when I saw it happen. Like she warned us ahead of time and I knew what I was supposed to do. But it’s kinda hard to prepare for something like that.

She was acting a little off one day, like she wasn’t fully there. We went to the private study room in the library and she was kinda spacing out and saying some stuff that didn’t really make sense. We asked if she was okay, said she was just really tired. Then out of nowhere she tensed up, turned her head to the side looking absolutely horrified of something and started screaming. Not like some Hollywood horror movie chick scream. But like a low, trembling scream. Then she started convulsing, fell out of her chair, couldn’t breathe right. Like her lips started turning blue. I put my jacket under her head so she didn’t slam it on the ground, and tried to hold her so she didn’t get too hurt. One of the guys called an ambulance. Eventually she stopped shaking and started breathing again. But her jaw was still clamped shut so her breathing was pretty rough, like forced through her closed mouth. School nurse showed up before the ambulance but by that time she was basically just sleeping.

The whole thing probably only lasted a few minutes but felt like hours. And a few days later she was back in class with a few bruises but back to herself. She didn’t even remember that day at all.

@Quackthulu2 The woman at DMV screamed like that, and that is what scared the hell out of me. Luckily the 'seizure was over by the time I left the break room and they called Paramedics.

i have epilepsy people have seen me taking them years ago and till this day even strangers have seen it when I've been out I've been told its a scary site to see it is because my mum use to take them and a use to shit maself but also helped as much as i could i always knew to put people that take sezuires on there side from i was young incase they choke on there tounge that can cause them death if they choke on there tounge and i still take them now and then but not as much as when i was young as i got older they calmed down my mum doesn't take them anymore but youve just gotta be brave and be preperd and make sure ure ready incase you sit with someone who who has epilepsy and take a sezuire so u can help and if iam alone and i go dizzy and feel like iam going to take a sezuire i just sit up take the deep breathes and calm down and think about other things to get the tought of thinking am going to take a fit out my head because the more you think oh no am gonna take a fit makes you paraniod more and will most likley make you feel worse just relax and think of good things

I have only witnessed this in high school and college, but I definitely understood what needed to happen. The teachers were aware of the student's need as well. In both instances the student was diabetic and the professor responded appropriately.

Yes I have... Fortunately part of my employment conditions include that everyone attends an intensive weeks course of First Aid At Week (St. John Ambulance UK.)

Yeah an ex of mine had real bad epilepsy. First fit she had we were having sex. Will all her jerking around I got over excited and I ended up cumming in her face by accident as I tried to help her. There was a few episodes like that, she told be just keep going if it happens again until I finish.
