No. I tried them in jr. high, but didn't like them. They made me dizzy and nauseous. So I never smoked cigarettes for my whole life.

In high school, I did start smoking weed, though. I did that for about 30 years but quite entirely when I was about 45.

In my mid-50s, I decided to try a Swisher Sweet cigarillo for some reason. I liked it. It didn't effect me like cigarettes. I think there are more additives in cigarette tobacco.
So I would buy a pack of Swisher Sweets on occasion but not often.

Soon afterwards, I got the idea of buying a pipe. Pipe tobacco is pure with no additives, is inexpensive, and has an aroma that many people find pleasing compared to cigarettes or cigars.

With a pipe, I can take a couple of puffs and it go out to relight it again later. A bowl load can last a long time.

I like the buzz. But it's not a brain-fogging buzz and doesn't inhibit lucid thought or coordination.

And there is a cool, old-fashioned, sort of sophisticated image associated with pipes.

I get 5 lbs of good tobacco for less than $20.

I never was a regular consumer of any tobacco products. I used to occasionally enjoy a cigar. I also would sometimes chew whole leaf tobacco when i was partying. Regular cigarettes always smelled and tasted like a dirty butthole to me though. I like buttholes more than most, but i like ‘em clean and fresh.

No, I quit in my 20s. I had a little trick that got me to stop buying them.

I would have much less trouble quitting today because of the expense.

I showed a video to my classes about the most radioactive places on Earth. The oddly high levels of radioactivity in tobacco outside of the Caucuses was mentioned, and that was what propelled the class salutatorian to quit smoking. I'm proud of him for doing that while achieving a stressful amount of other accomplishments.

I smoked for four years in my twenties and quit. I only smoke a cigarette now when I am dead tired and have to drive for a long time.
