If you were ever a smoker, what made you start?

All the cool kids were doing it

I wanted to look tough

Someone suggested I try it so, I did and then got to like it.

Everyone around me smoked so I thought I might as well.

Everyone in the 1970s intelligentsia circles were smoking, so did my parents and all their friends and the parents of my friends. It was completely normal and we just copied it.

I never enjoyed no harsh smoke. I did see friends take it up because other cool folk were doing it. Then they realized they were addicted.

I only smoked for about a year or less and then quit from then until now.

Cool!! My dad started in his late teens in the Air Force and we finally got him to quit when he was in his 50's and he was SOOO thankful when we did!!
