You rode your bike to the beach with your dog to go swimming on a hot day, but then found out it was a private beach and you couldn't get in. What would you do?

This has been a hot topic near where I live. In many cases the homeowner does not have deeded beach rights and cannot keep people from using the beach in front of their property. Sometimes homeowners will block the path to the beach or will post a No Tresspassing sign. I would find out the legal situation and then act accordingly.

Do you know the story of the Apple OS "Mavericks?"

@KetoJames Had an Apple, but they stopped supporting a version after a couple years so you had to keep updating to a different version. I started with Tiger and finally quit after Snow Leopard. Plus they are way more expensive than a PC.

Mavericks is said to be one of the most dangerous places to surf in the world. It’s located in California. I don’t know anything about surfing, but when it became an Apple operating system, I had to know what’s up. So the new CEO of Apple held a meeting with the staff. One of the things they had to do was come up with a name for the next operating system. They were all in a state of panic, because they couldn’t think of a name. During the meeting someone spoke up and told the new CEO that they ran out of cats. The CEO said: “What about sea lion?” The crowd started laughing, and the terrified staff realized that the new boss wasn’t a monster. The boss said screw it with the cats, let’s name them after places in California.

So, way back when, a group of kids set out in their station wagon and headed cross-country to fight those waves in Cali. When they got there, all the youngsters were too chickenshit to get in the water. But their German Shepherd, “Mavericks,” dove right in. Mavericks wasn’t afraid of those 60 foot waves and rocks. The boys had to tie Mavericks to a tree, to keep him out of the water. The story passed around the town, and to this day, that surfing beach is Mavericks.

So after Apple gave up on cats, their next operating system was named after a dog. Lol I just figured that a computer guy like you should know that.

Luckily you don't get private beaches in the UK, if you can legally reach it you can go on. The only exception is ones used by the military for target practice and they stick a flag up on the days they're closed. It can be a bit of a bummer if you drive to one and haven't checked online if it's open.
Some beaches have local bylaws like no dogs, horses or nudity but that's only in the touristy areas.

Other than the no swimming (beaches are meant for swimming!), not even a little. Most beaches you can ride a bike to have bike lockups somewhere, or at least something else you can lock them to, and I don't want dogs peeing and pooping in areas I'm laying on, nor do I want them running around barking and making noise while I'm trying to relax.

Of course, if it's a protected beach for turtles, birds or other animals, I'd have no issue at all. Nature needs its spaces too. 💙

No, I'd just go a few minutes north or south and call it a W. Or ignore the sign and do whatever tf I felt like anyway. What's the worst that will happen? A ticket? I'd call it a use fee and not cry like a little kid if I got caught.

Well, yeah, you do have that, but, devil's advocate here, you would have had the bike ride home even if the beach had been open to the public.
