I keep picking up new ones all the time. My main that have persisted all my life are vert skating, drawing, and writing/producing music. These are all rather antisocial though.
To enjoy with other people, I started go-kart racing with my brother-in-law in recent years. That's very fun and actually quite thrilling! I had this impression that it's something just little kids do and not so intense, so I was amazed by how adrenaline-pumping and fast it was:
https://www.youtube.com/embed/mJ8ITMci2GwAlso met some professional race car drivers at the track and raced against them during an exhibition, including Kisaragi Awano (Tokyo drift queen):

That sounds like fun! I do like to drive! 😎
It's extremely fun! I keep having these dreams now of motorcycle racing though for an even bigger thrill. But my wife's dead set against it. 😅

Yeah, that's pretty dangerous. 😱
More risk, more fun! Karaoke is also one of my great hobbies. I only like to sing in Karaoke bars though, not boxes with just friends. I need new audiences who haven't heard me yet!

I make a good audience, but you'll never get me to sing.
That's a shame. Only need confidence! No skills required.

My husband and kids would say otherwise! They beg me not to sing in the car.
My wife does the same when I sing in the car! 😁 But I subscribe to Stoic philosophy.
Haha! Good one! I'm just the opposite. My opinion of myself is very high and I don't sing because I love others.
You have to figure out what you like doing.
But any sport is good, as it helps with your health
or learning something, like playing an instrument or a new language
or art and crafts, painting, drawing, building...
Or boardgames
or videogames
or reading or writing books
or just watching movies, tv shows.
or collecting something..
or
or
or...
anything can be a hobby
Right! I do prefer something outside the house.
Gardening? Hiking? Cycling? ...
Cycling, yes! I should get my bike out. I have a nice road bike that's been neglected. Thank you for reminding me!
I enjoy reading, playing video games, taking walks by myself, volunteering, baking, and photography. I recommend taking walks, reading, and volunteering to everybody because those things are good for you. Also, volunteering, while being good for you, is also good for the community. There are a large number of non-profits who need all the volunteers they can get, like local food banks, maternity nonprofits, food drives, or even toy drives. The last two may seem like not much goes on behind the scenes, but as someone who has volunteered at food banks, toy drives, and food drives a number of times, there’s always so much that needs to get done.
Yes, I enjoy volunteering too!
I like to learn to do things. A couple of years ago, I built an automated hydroponics garden and I also make cuisine from around the world from scratch as much as possible.
I've also run, played volleyball, tennis and now squeeze out babies.
I also invest in stocks for my family and make crafts for the baby rooms.
Omg, I always wanted a hydroponic garden! I found a place that sells everything to start one, but it's super expensive and they pretty much only cater to their cannabis growing clients. 🙊 It sounds like you are keeping very busy there Friend!

i like to sculpt things or characters from tv shows, movies, or even books too. takes forever tho
used to do claymation, but man, it took waaay too long, was super stressful, and also people still trying to do it these days are delusional lol. (i mean no disrespect, but its somewhat true) this is also why i opted for just sculpting, it was always the most fun part of claymation.
i would also recommend any type of music hobby (or the playing of any instrument
basically)
Sculpting sounds fun! Maybe I can learn guitar. I love sitting around a fire with guitar music.
I like building things out of wood. I used to make my then wife, now ex, doll cabinets to display her collection. Beds and bunk beds for the kids when they were growing up. Now I am looking at building a side buffet hutch type thing to go in a formal dinning room to display the good dishes….
I would suggest maybe gardening? Something small and indoors. You get to see the benefits of your labor.
I love plants and I have a brown thumb, but I do garden anyway. 😂
We're still expecting snow. In the spring, I'd like to transplant a Rose of Sharon and add a few more plants to my garden.
Sounds nice! The upside where I live is that we're at the top of the food chain. There's nothing deadly here. 😬
My main hobby is collecting coins... from all over the world.
My recommendation for anyone is to collect something, whatever is important to you. That could be sports cards, dolls, coins or anything else you want to collect.
@FunkyMonkee has a HUGE collection of albums
I used to like wood carving. Lots of downed tree limbs from unusual storms this year. Was thinking about taking it up again when they dry out.
It sounds like you have a special talent! I have a wood burning kit I bought a while back for my son to use on a school project. It looks kinda fun, but I was never much of an artist.
Can you post sombre pictures of things you carved? 😁💕
I will see what I can dig out. 😎
Wood burning is also fun. I haven't done as much of that though.
I take pottery classes each Saturday.
I’ve always wanted to take glass blowing but I’m a pyromaniac at heart.
I imagine it's very therapeutic to mild clay and rewarding to get something beautiful. I took a single glass blowing class once and it wasn't easy. It was very exciting though! If you like fire, you'd love glass blowing.

Pottery is a lot of fun. I can say I’m not good but it’s relaxing like you mentioned and my partner doesn’t smoke but he doesn’t seem to mind the ashtray I keep bringing home 😅
😂😂😂
Martial arts. You keep yourself strong and you learn body control, stamina control, it's one you can do with others. Bonding over sparring.
That actually sounds pretty good. I like activity.
The only Hobbie I engage in and strongly recommend is travelling
Yes, I have done a bit of that! ✈
Running in 5ks.
wine tasting
Gardening and making my own pepper sauce
I've dabbled in soap making and painting.
I'm not very creative, but I took one off those paint night classes and it was a lot of fun.
Video games, board games, cooking, and gym/exercise are what my partner or friends do.
I enjoy listening to music and cooking new dishes.
I lose interest in things too quickly in order for me to manage a Hobby.
Collecting records.
I'll bet you have an amazing collection!
Sure do! Over 62,000 spanning the past 120-some years.
Holy moly! 😎
Where do you keep them? Are they organized?
At the moment, most of them are in storage but I've got about 10,000 of them here.
Yes, they are all in alphabetic order according to label. If there's more than one record on a given label, they go in numeric order according to the record number. However, with the albums, it's the same way except that, if there are more than one by a certain artist, once I get to that artist in the numeric order on a given label, all of their stuff on that label goes together in release order then, the next artist on that label goes in along with all of THEIR albums on that label. For instance, on Apple, The Beatles were the first on their own label so, all of their albums on Apple are together in release order. The next artist on that label was George Harrison so, all of his Apple releases go next, then John Lennon, etc..
I build plastic models of vehicles.
You must be very patient. I built one of those many many years ago. I don't think it turned out like the picture. 😂
@TrueConfection - Well it’s more annoying than anything because it all has to deal with paint and fitment. It’s basically just like if type were building or restoring a real car. You got painting of parts as if they didn’t paint them at a car parts factory, you got to assemble, just like welding only you are using model glue, if you want it to look really realistic with spark plug wires, all hoses like in a real car, you have to source those out. Or you can just have a basic model. The real pain is the exterior painting of the car. You have have your primer and paint the right temperature if you are using spray can. Humidity and temperature play a huge part if you get a great paintjob or you have orange peel which means wet sanding and painting again. Then clear over that after waiting days and God help you if you don’t wash your model car parts before you paint because you will have contamination in the paintjob and you have to strip the model and start the paintjob all over again.
Other than that it’s a great hobby 😛😉
Sounds fun! 🤪🤪🤪
I'm am avid Russian roulette fan. You should definitely try it. It's the trill of your life for the rest of your life.
Trill? That’s Newfoundland speaking

I used to play tennis. I'd like to again.
