Which gaming websites and blogs do you rely on for guides and new game finds?

Whenever I want to discover new games or learn about game setup, I usually search for gaming blogs and community recommendations. Some websites focus on news, while others provide tutorials, optimization tips, comparisons, and game recommendations.

I'm interested in finding reliable gaming websites that are regularly updated and easy to follow. Which gaming blogs or resources do you visit the most, and what makes them useful?

I'm always looking for new recommendations from other gamers, so feel free to share your favorites.

It has articles about gaming, emulators, setup guides, comparisons, and other related topics. I'd love to know what other websites you would recommend as well.

I usually prefer gaming websites that provide detailed tutorials, performance optimization tips, and honest game recommendations. Guides that explain things step by step are much more helpful than sites that only focus on news.

I also enjoy discovering smaller gaming blogs because they often share practical advice and real-world experiences. What gaming websites do you visit most often, and which ones have helped you discover great games recently?

Almost 100% of the time I use GameFAQs site for guides (they also have question boards) or sometimes I will use a games fan created/maintained wiki site for answers if needed. GameFAQs is a safe site I have been using for years and usually has multiple guides for everything from Walk-throughs to item lists, unlockables, and also cheats (if that's your thing lol)

As for what games I want to future play, since I am a PC gamer mostly (I do also play my Switch 2), I rely on the store page on Steam. I see recommendations there based on the nearly 200 games I own and check those out. I also rely on my boyfriends recommendations from research he's done on games he wants. With his research it's usually co-op games we can play together which are more at his speed. That usually means Sims types games or farming simulators, although he does play games like Raft or Grounded 1 and 2 which are games I like.

I dont typically rely on blogs or gaming sites for recommendations so I don't have any suggestions there. Sorry about that.

I don't waste my time gaming. I personally find that activity a total waste of time that could be used to do more sensible activities that actually bring something to a person.

I am aware that a lot of people are addicted to games and that spend more than one single hour a day behind a computer or smartphone to gamble and play games. A lot of people also spend a fortune on new games that they play for a few hours and then discard because they lost interest in them.

Those websites and blogs are aware that posting content is potentially hooking people to waste more money in buying something that is not really necessary.

i just use chat gpt. fuck gaming websites. gaming journalism has become it's own microcosmos completely out of touch with actual gamers.

IGN and GameSpot for big releases and reviews, they’re fast and easy to skim. PC Gamer and Rock Paper Shotgun for in‑depth PC stuff and more thoughtful pieces. For guides and optimization, I use PCGamingWiki, Nexus Mods forums, and sometimes Reddit subs.

For discovering hidden gems: Eurogamer, Kotaku, and Steam’s Curator lists help a lot. 🎮
